Voodoo People Oy brought together the Voodoo Entertainment talent agency, the Voodoo Records record label, the Voodoo Shop merchandise store, and the Voodoo Rock music festival. The company operated from approximately 2018 to 2025.
The entire operation was conceived and organised by Mike Moisio, also known as “M. Van Dola” or simply “Dola”. Whenever extra hands were needed, the community of musicians from the roughly 20 bands involved was always ready to help – and their support made a genuine difference.

Voodoo Rock 2022
In 2022, Voodoo Rock took the form of three separate live music nights held upstairs at Utopia Night Club in Turku. Archived information about the events can still be found through the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.

Voodoo Rock 2023
In 2023, Voodoo raised the stakes considerably.
Voodoo Rock was held at the Mannin Navetta event venue in Lieto, in partnership with Rokmanni and Moision Olkkari. The venue was estimated to have a capacity of approximately 1000 people.

The festival was opened by Sepi Kumpulainen – the singing caretaker known throughout Finland – who had recently returned to performing after first rising to fame in the 1990s.
The festival featured one atmospheric performance after another. The final act of the evening, Finnish rock powerhouse Luuvitonen, brought the event to a memorable close.
Other performers included DaddyShow, Atomic Berries, K Koster, Mistolan Lasiset Linnut, Worldburn, and Turku’s own lyrical jackhammer, Helppo J.

Although everyone involved considered the festival a success in terms of atmosphere and production, the audience of just over 200 people was not enough to cover the event’s budget.
Voodoo’s policy was to pay every artist the fee agreed upon in advance, regardless of ticket sales or revenue from merchandise and other products.
The company treated the financial loss as the price of experience. Even so, it cast a shadow over the plans already taking shape for Voodoo Rock 2024. Preliminary discussions with potential headliners Pelle Miljoona and Paleface had already progressed well.
After a relatively brief period of consideration, Voodoo decided not to go ahead with the 2024 festival.
Voodoo’s Final Chapter
Following Voodoo Rock 2023, the company found itself backed into a corner.
The year 2024 was quiet, and by 2025, bankruptcy had begun to appear on the horizon. CEO Mike had lost his enthusiasm for fighting windmills with concepts that seemed to do little more than drain money from the company.
All operations were gradually shut down.
In 2026, Voodoo’s limited company was formally dissolved.
